ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange was established in January 2006 with the goal of expanding the network and facilitating efficient and continuous professional exchange among actors of the contemporary art scene in Hungary and abroad. ACAX’s major scope of operation are: residency programs, visitor programs, study trips, organization of exhibitions and projects in collaboration with international contemporary art institutions and the preparation and provision for Hungarian participation in international biennials and other significant shows.
Result of the curatorial residency program for a Spain-based curator in Budapest
Ludwig Museum-Museum of Contemporary Art and ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange, in collaboration with SEACEX (Sociedad Estatal para la Acción Cultural Exterior) announced an open call for application for a one month curatorial residency program for a Spain-based curator.
From the 16 applications SEACEX preselected the following candidates: Javier Duero, Iván López Munuera, Inma Prieto and Manuel Segade.
In a second round, upon the decision of Ludwig Museum / ACAX, Iván López Munuera was selected, who will participate in the curatorial residency program at Ludwig Museum / ACAX in Budapest during March 2010.
As hosting institutions, Ludwig Museum / ACAX will cover the travel, accommodation and living costs of the curator and will assist him in his curatorial research.
The program is organised and financed by Ludwig Museum-Museum of Contemporary Art / ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange.

Jacek Niegoda (1972) lives and works in Gdansk. Selected individual exhibitions:
Europe-Poland, Towards Security and Cooperation - Room for Northeast Reading, Hamburg (2007); Amateurs of the Avantgarde - Gallery Kordegarda, Warsaw (2005); The Crane Ballat II. - Gdansk Shipyard, Gdansk, Poland (2003). He received the grant (Honourable Mention) of the WRO 05 - 11th International Media Art Biennale, Wroclaw (2005). In 1995, together with Robert Jurkowski, Piotr Wyrzykowski, he founded the art group CUKT - Central Office of Technical Culture. He was co-author of the Wiktoria Cukt’s presidential campaign in 2001, when a virtual candidate was nominated for the presidental election in Poland. The project is now on view at the exhibition Gender Check at MUMOK, Vienna. Since 2000 he has been working with artist Julita Wójcik.
Jacek Niegoda is participating in the international artist exchange program Opening the Closed Shops, as a fellow of the József Attila Kör and ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange.

Miklós Peternák, founding head of the Intermedia Department at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, director of C3 Foundation
Moderators of the event: Rita Kálmán and Tijana Stepanovic, curators of ACAX
The event, taking place at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin (CHB), celebrates the launch of the publication "Transitland. Video Art from Central and Eastern Europe 1989-2009" and the video archive, making it accessible to the public and contextualising the work with a programme of complementary discussions, performances and screenings taking place over the course of three days.
