Iván López Munuera

 

Iván López Munuera (b. 1980) is an art critic and independent curator of contemporary art, cultural studies and new media.
Currently teaches history of art and architecture at IE University, Madrid and completing his doctoral dissertation The Construction of the Identity in Spanish art During the 70's Decade.
His latest projects include: ¿Qué es una casa? (What Is A House?) - SoloProjects Programme of ARCO Madrid, 2010; The Night of Living Creators - Matadero-Madrid, 2009; Los Esquizos de Madrid (Madrid's Schizos) - Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, 2009.
Since March 2007 director of Epítome, a series of interviews with contemporary artists, authors and curators, including: Beatriz Colomina, Paul Graham, Nicolas Bourriaud, Juan Navarro Baldeweg, Peter Osborne, Toyo Ito, Teddy Cruz, Isidoro Valcárcel Medina and Elia Zenghelis.
Since February 2009 director of the section Exactamente lo que no necesito of the weekly radio-broadcasted magazine Planeta Beta on Radio Círculo, Circulo de Bellas Artes, Madrid.
Regular contributor to the art magazines Arte y Parte and Pasajes Diseño.
Member of the Plataforma curatorial (Curatorial Platform).
